Chain Slings

Grade 80 or Grade 100 EN818-4 1997 Chain Slings Product Information
Our Chain Sling components and chain are manufactured to the EN818-4 standard. The Working Load Limits (WLL) are rated by the Uniform Load Method of rating and a Chain Slings WLL is dependant upon the diameter of the chain, the grade of the chain, the number of legs and the angle of the legs.
Chain Sling leg length is normally measured from the bearing point of the masterlink to the bearing point of the hooks, this is normally referred to as "b to b" or bearing point to bearing point. They should generally be used within a temperature range of -40 to 200 degrees centigrade. If they are to be used at higher temperatures then a reduction factor must be applied to the WLL. Due to the risk of embrittlement Grade 80 or 100 Chain Slings should not be used in acidic or caustic solutions or in heavily acidic or caustic laden atmospheres. They should not be heat treated, plated, coated or subjected to any process involving heating or pickling. Each of these processes can have dangerous effects and will invalidate the Sling manufactures' certificate.

Polyester Roundslings

Polyester Roundslings Seamless to EN1492-2:2000 Product Information
Our polyester Roundslings comprise of a core enclosed in a protective cover. The core is the load bearing part of the Roundsling and is in the form of a hank of yarn made up from one or more strands wound together continuously and joined to form an endless sling. The protective cover is a woven tubular outer sleeve which is designed to be non-load bearing as it is for protection and containment of the core. Hampshire Lifting Gear can generally supply roundslings from 1 tonne to 10 tonnes and from 1 metre up to 12 metres circumference. The effective working length of a sling is half the circumference.

US Fed Spec Shackles

US Fed Specification RR-C-271D IV Alloy Shackles Product Information
The main type of shackles used for lifting are the Bow and Dee types. They are sized by the diameter of the material of the shackle body not the diameter of the pin, shackles are normally forged from various grades of steel, the high alloy steels used in US Fed Specification shackles give a higher safe working load (SWL) than those made in higher tensile steels such as BS3032 type. (Size for Size)
Bow shackles are normally used where more than one attachment is made to the body whereas Dee shackles are normally used to join two pieces of lifting equipment together.

Speeds lifting operations, safe and simple to use. No threads to protect or nuts to safeguard. Four standard sizes to suit most manhole pipes.
25mm dia Max. Wall Thickness 120mm SWL 750 kg per pin
32mm dia Max. Wall Thickness 150mm SWL 1000 kg per pin
35mm dia Max. Wall Thickness 170mm SWL 1500 kg per pin
38mm dia Max. Wall Thickness 200mm SWL 2000 kg per pin
PIns should be used in sets of three. Rotate 180 degree for quick release. Specials designed and made to order.
Warning: Shock loads can be more than twice the static load. Exceeding the SWL could result in the failure of the lifting pin.
